After all the links between Zagreb and Dubrovnik that have happened for me, articles about restaurants, Croatian designers and ‘must-see’ places while in Dubrovnik, it’s time for you to get to know me better. It’s time to write some facts about me, about a girl who loves strolling by herself around unknown streets and finding photogenic details, taking pictures. About a girl who loves to spend time sunbathing and reading a good book, who is a coffee addict and a hedonist – and who doesn’t want this to look like a cover letter for a job application!
From my childhood wishes to become a teacher, or a journalist or a doctor, I finally ended up as an experimental biologist. Biology came spontaneously, because I’ve always been fascinated by things invisible to the human eye, like viruses, bacteria, etc. During my studies I fell in love more and more with biology and I can’t imagine myself spending 5 years studying something that I wouldn’t find completely absorbing. Currently I’m at the very end of my study and when I look back I’m happy and proud that I’ve chosen science.
Everyone who knows me, knows of my great love for Paris. I never thought that was possible to love a city the way I love Paris. Maybe it’s because of the people that I met there, maybe because of the language, maybe because of the wine and cheese, maybe because of its history, maybe because of its astonishing architecture – or maybe because of everything… Every corner of that city has its own story and every one of them is so charming. I won’t forget that moment when I saw the Arc de Triomphe for the first time – I smiled to myself and thought ‘This is the city I want to live in’.
Why Lifestyle and not Fashion?
Beauty is in the details and I love to capture windows full of flowers, charming doors and corners, tasty ice-creams, fields of sunflowers, romantic sunsets and fresh mornings. I also love fashion, street-style pictures, but I love to blend it into my pictures, it can’t be my only focus.
Instagram is the reason why I fell in love with photography, details and ‘insta’ moments captured with just one click of the camera. I started being able to see beauty in things that I’ve seen that way before. Once my friend told me that we had started to look at the world through the square of a frame.
Through Instagram I connected with so many talented and nice people and love the fact that I can share moments which I like with other people.
I have always been free-minded and open for new things and GoDubrovnik gave me an opportunity to try myself in journalism that I quite accidentally started to enjoy. It was a world that was unknown to me and I wrote my first article ever for GoDubrovnik. Through these months I met so many talented and interesting people who encouraged me to continue writing, they gave me an opportunity to express myself.
My trip to Dubrovnik a month ago was an amazing experience. I enjoyed so much, laughed so hard and wrote a lot. Dubrovnik left me breathless and the nice people who brought me there are the main reason for my love for that city, because it’s people that make the city.
