Journeys enrich us. They bring into our lives new people and new experiences. Even while I write this article I’m thinking about new destinations that I want to visit. There are so many of them and there’s no knowing whether one is better than another. The world is full of magical places, views that will leave you breathless and kind people full of life and joy.
It took only a few minutes for me to fall in love with the atmosphere of crowded airports, heavy suitcases and hours spent in the plane.
Last summer brought me to Dubrovnik. It’s a city for lovers of food and wine, architecture, history, art and photography. All in all, the perfect city for dedicated hedonists. A city that it’s not enough to visit just once. A city that is calling you to come back and waits for you with arms wide open.
I can’t hide my love for Dubrovnik. This city is connected with so many world famous destinations because of its airport. Dubrovnik Airport is the most important airport of Croatia, right at the southern tip of the country. There’s one more reason why it’s so special and different from other airports in Croatia: nearby is the “Đurovića špilja”, a deep cave located right under the runway. There is also a wine cellar located inside the cave.
Recent history had its impact on the airport and some reconstruction following war damage was necessary. Today it waits in pristine readiness for tourists to arrive.
Dubrovnik Airport is located in Čilipi, around 20 km from the town; it’s one of 9 airports in Croatia, and easily the busiest.
One of the companies to include Dubrovnik as a destination is Turkish Airlines – the national flag carrier airline of Turkey.
Turkish Airlines flies to more than 290 destinations all over the world and one of them is Dubrovnik.
So if you are looking for a perfect getaway, choose Turkish Airlines and Dubrovnik. Travel the world. Fill your suitcase with treasures. There are stories waiting for you out there that will become memories for life.
