Private accommodation is a vital part of Dubrovnik tourism history. It is very hard to find a person from Dubrovnik who, if he/she doing it themselves, do not have some of their family members renting out apartments, rooms, studios, villas and houses to tourists.
It is becoming more and more popular in last ten years, where the quality of private accommodation has much improved and it became, in some instances, better than hotel accommodation, in terms of cleanliness, size, amenities and location.
Should you browsing through goDubrovnik.com not find what you are looking for, feel free to contact us and we would be more than happy to help you with your quary. |

Truths:
-
Dubrovnik has become (along with island of Hvar) the most ellite destination in Croatia and all the prices, including those of room and apartment rent are higher accordingly. The very small size of Dubrovnik old city, limits the quantity of apartments as well and thus makes the prices higher.
-
The whole city of Dubrovnik is a very small area compared to some other European cities. One can be almost anwhere in Dubrovnik within 45 mins walk + there are good local bus connections where you can reach Old Town from any other part within 10 mins. And why would you be in the Old City in the first place, there are places in and around the city also intersting and less explored by thousands of everyday visitor. Why would you not be one of the few to see it all.
-
Croatian tourist law for private renters is pretty strict and the fines for breaking it can be very harsh. Renters do not like to pay fines. You would more likely be warned…or worse.
-
Some bargaining is always possible, especially in the low season, or for late night check ins when there are still vacant rooms but try not to push it too much. Dubrovnik people do not bargain for a long time, and what you get after your second or third try, take it, or otherwise, better loook for another accommodation.
-
Do your research on the Internet, there are apartments and rooms in Dubrovnik even more luxury and with better service than some 5 star hotels. It is all about how much time of research you have to get best price/quality ratio.
