For today’s post I decided to have a little chat with one of my best friends & a popular fashion blogger known all around the world, Isabella Rakonić from ThePileOfStyle.com. Isabella and I have been friends for a couple of years now, and we’ve watched each other grow and progress in the sense of fashion and photography in particular. She loves visiting Dubrovnik and is planning to visit after her college exams, so what else to chat about! Here’s what she told me about Dubrovnik, her favorite spots in the city, what would she wear etc.
I’ve been visiting Dubrovnik ever since I was a little girl. We have a house in Slano so my many of my childhood memories are from there. I’m planning to spend a few days there this summer, just like previous years.
I love walking around the city, exploring the narrow streets and finding some new restaurants and wine bars I haven’t been at before. Nothing beats black risotto and mussels overlooking the gorgeous sunset behind the Lovrijenac fortress. Waking up at dawn sounds awful for most of us, but Roza and I love it because it offers us an amazing opportunity to shoot a fashion editorial while the Old Town is still empty and the light is amazing. This year I’m very happy to visit and see two theatre shows from the Dubrovnik Summer Festival program: The Dubrovnik Trilogy that I unfortunately missed last year, and La Bottega del Caffee that I’m crazy excited about. I already have some ideas on what to wear for that occasion, probably one of the this season mega-trendy off the shoulder dresses with nice high heels.
Most of the time in Dubrovnik I love spending at the beach on Lokrum, such a relaxing place that allows me to read a good book, tan on the beach and give my hair some fantastic summery highlights. I also really enjoy playing a card game of remi, and of course- winning. Going to Lopud and driving one of those little golf carts around the island is so much fun as well! I love taking underwater pictures with my GoPro camera as well as filming cute summer videos.
I’m also very excited about going out, Revelin club is one of my favorite clubs ever and this summer some of the best DJs are going to perform. Nighttime outfits are amazing when combined with the popular harness under a romper or a dress.
