THE GUARDIAN : Šunj Beach in the top 20 world beaches

The Šunj Beach on Dubrovnik island, Lopud  is the nineteenth top beach in the world writes popular British newspaper The Guardian. Šunj is a wonderful sandy beach located on the off the coast of Dubrovnik.

This 1000 m long beach is very popular among locals and tourists. The beach has a couple of beach bars serving also simple food, deck chairs and parasol rental, snorkeling and kayak tours.

”Sandy beaches are outnumbered by pebbly ones in Croatia, but the car-free island of Lopud, a 40-minute ferry ride from Dubrovnik, is the exception. Locals ferry visitors in golf buggies from the port to Šunj beach, a 1km strip of sand sloping gently into limpid, shallow waters on the island’s south coast.” writes The Guardian.
