“The Gypsy Table Dubrovnik event was challenging to say the least and not to mention that we changed locations the night before the event. Due to the threat of rain, we decided to go from an outdoor venue to and inside one. Everything besides the main table changed. Layout, lighting, serving stations”, says Richard Gruica, one of theguys from organization.
The idea was to introduce something yet unknown to the gastronomical offer in Dubrovnik, but very attractive in the world – a Pop Up Dinner, one-time food event offering guests a taste of something different, and in the same time this is a charity event – all the money goes to Dubrovnik’s animal shelter.
First Croatian Gypsy Table Pop Up Dinner was held this Sunday in Lazareti with 40 participants and more than delicious five course menu.
“Considering this was the first event of its kind, we are super pleased with the results and based on the comments and feedback, so were the guests. The Gypsy Table team wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that attended and that the Žakorica Animal Shelter will be getting visit from us soon with some much needed funds. People keep on asking about the next one, well, we are happy to give you an exclusive that the next Gypsy Table will take place the end of Oct at a secret location in Dubrovnik, with new chefs, new menu, new music and more….all we need now is you!”, concluded Richard.
As the organizers described it, these events cater to the ‘Experiential Diner’ – one who craves not just an amazing meal, but a new and exciting dining experience. Whether it’s an unexpected location, a personal interaction with the chef, or a unique menu or theme, pop-up dinners serve up something no ordinary restaurant can deliver.
