This charming restaurant, located in the heart of the city (Cvijete Zuzorić 5), thrills its guests year after year. Slightly rustic interior and a wonderful, shaded dining terrace are definitely the first things you will notice. One of the most interesting interiors in Dubrovnik will charm you with its brick walls, as well as vintage Italian film posters.

The owner of Sagreto restaurant, Ana Obrvan has always been a gourmet. Perhaps this is why she opted for a Hotel and tourism management and hospitality high-school, then followed the same path in college… Ana also studied in America, conducted a four-year internship in Dubai and attended a prestigious Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in London. Upon returning to her hometown, Dubrovnik, this young and ambitious entrepreneur decided to create a little oasis for those who love Italian cuisine, just like she does.
And this is how Segreto was born.
“We wanted to gift our city with something new; a restaurant where guests can enjoy one of the most interesting Mediterranean cuisines; an Italian cuisine. From the very beginning, the quality has been our priority, so this is the reason why we decided to use only the best Italian ingredients. Our dishes are simple, but you will certainly notice the local touch. “
Perhaps the most important thing about Segreto is that it offers a great value for money. This is definitely one of those restaurants where everyone can find something for themselves. Traditional Italian dishes such as pasta will not disappoint. Segreto’s pasta has more protein than a classic pasta; It’s made of 30% egg and semolina wheat (Durum wheat). In addition to the tasty pasta, meat-lovers should not miss the argentine black angus beef!
Make sure you check out the classic Italian specialties like Buratta, Mozzarella di Buffala and the finest Prosciutto di Parma …
You prefer fish? No problem! Ravioli di scampi will delight your senses, just like Pappardelle al tuna fresco!
The seafood in Segreto is always fresh. We even had a chance to witness the fresh fish delivery! How impressive is this big guy 🙂 !
Wine-lovers shouldn’t miss great Italian wine Barolo, and if you’re looking for a perfect aperitif, make sure you try Grappa or Proscecco. Yes, of course, there’s an excellent selection of local wines too. And what’s a meal without a desert? Since the picture is worth a thousand words … Enjoy!
The Chef, Stijepo Gavrić, is energetic, full of ideas, and he seems to be smiling all the time… “He really loves his job, it’s easy to see that! ” Ana says, and continues: ” There is no better recipe for success than a good team. Teamwork is so important and it is virtually impossible to achieve the culmination of your skills and success without developing strong teamwork skills! That’s why, we highly value team players around here.”
And while you’re enjoying the finest delicacies at Segreto, you will already start planning the next visit to this little hidden paradise. Maybe you’ll even ask what was the secret ingredient of that fantastic dish you just finished…Well, don’t be surprised if your waiter just whispers “… Segreto …” (an Italian word for secret)
